Hi @Julie24241,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To bypass the "Setup Cartridge" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer, you can try the following steps.
Use Different Cartridges
- Remove the Setup Cartridges: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Open the printer and carefully remove the setup cartridges.
- Install Regular Cartridges: If you have regular cartridges (not setup cartridges), install them instead. Make sure they are properly seated in their slots.
- Power On the Printer: Plug the printer back in and power it on. This may bypass the setup cartridge message.
Factory Reset
If changing the cartridges does not work, you can try resetting the printer:
- Power Off: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Hold the Power Button: While unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset internal settings and help with bypassing error messages.
Update Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Make sure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Access HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app on your device to check for firmware updates. Follow the prompts to update if necessary.
Note:
Bypassing the setup cartridge message may void your warranty or violate terms of service, so proceed with caution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
