We are looking to harden our security posture and require users to CAC sign in to retrieve their print job.  Does anyone know how, have a guide?  Can this be accomplished with the firmware feature or does it require additional/3rd party software?

Depending on the level of security you are seeking. Any HP Enterprise product like the 525 can utilize a driver feature called job storage which will allow a user to save a job to the printer that is then pulled using a pin code. Users can only access their own jobs.

If you are looking to authenticate to an AD structure using Prox cards,  you would need a program like Access Control or PaperCut.
