Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

my DVDRW is not working properly, because it has become linked to the install of my printer. when i enter device manager, and expand DVD/CD-ROM drives, the HP Smart Install USB Device is the only thing that shows up.

Before using a HP utility to disable the smart install, where my DVDRW would usually show up on my computer, only the files necessary to install the printer would show up under F drive, as if that was my DVDRW. And I even had a partition on my pc with the files, listed as a CD-ROM

I've tried disabling everything I could, uninstalled the printer and software. unplugged my dvdrw and plugged it back in. I cannot get my dvdrw working. this stupid printer software is impeding it somehow.

short of a reformat, is there any way to get this junk off my pc and get my dvdrw back?

Thanks

I already had the printer installed

The issue is that the printer somehow installed itself as a cd Rom hardware device. I can't get rid of it, and it's impairing my actual DVDRWs ability to function
