I know a similar question has been asked before but that solution didn't work for me.
Windows 10 64-bit CP4025 via USB 3.0 port. I have installed the recommended driver HP_CLJ_CP4020_CP4520_Installer_AM_2.exe and I have rebooted.
Windows shows the CP 4025 under Bluetooth and Other Devices but not under Printers & Scanners.
If I go to Control Panel + Devices and Printers, it is there but won't let me select it as the default printer.
When I try to print a document there is no CP 4025 ( or any actual printer ) on the list. If I try to "add" the printer in "Printers & Scanners " it sees something called ET00200008D5AF8 and if I select that it insists on a WPS PIN which I do not have. Going around in circles.
The printer has worked well for years with Windows 7. Now it won't work at all with Windows 10.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Try downloading the UPD driver for managed services

Thank you, but I just tried that and it didn't change anything other than it triggered HP Smart to run. HP Smart cannot find my USB printer. Windows still has it listed under devices but not under printers. I also tried switching to a USB 2.0 port. Still doesn't work.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. The printer now shows up where it is supposed to and is set as the default printer, but when I actually try to print, it allows me to select the printer, but it doesn't actually print.

Something wrong here. When I try to print it take quite a while for the print job to show up in the print queue. And then it just says "printing" [ Port DOT4_001 ] but nothing happens. The printer says "Ready" And Windows says the device is working properly. And yet the computer and printer are simply not communicating.

Okay, well, HP Windows 10 Support Center is not helpful, just some broken links.
I give up. Time to throw this CP 4025 away and replace with something that works with Windows 10, like a Xerox Phaser or Kyocera. Or I can go back to Windows 7 where I know it works. Use a Windows 7 computer on my network and simply share the printer. If the WIndows 10 computer cannot even "see" that then I will figure out how to dispose of this CP 4025. It is a beast.

I have now connected the printer to a Windows 7 computer and it works just fine. I set it to share across the network and the Windows 10 computer found it and connected to it. No problem. So I cannot connect the printer directly to a Windows 10 computer. Sad that HP cannot figure out how to connect its printer to a Windows 10 computer. But I have a work-around solution so I am back in business after wasting several days of my time.

OMG I thought I was going insane as I've been trying to figure this out. I NEED this printer to work on windows 10, & really don't want to have set back up my 15 year old dinosaur with windows 7 to get it work now. Trevor, have you found any other solutions? Or if anyone else has some input on this - please HELP!! What about Windows 11?? Does anyone know if it will work on that as I'll update if I have to. Ugh... finally got to upgrade to a new computer - can't really afford to upgrade to a new printer, especially if this one is still going. TIA!!

Sorry Jenn, none of the advice provided here has solved my issue. I have several spare Windows 7 computers so I am living with just printing through the printer connected to a Windows 7 computer and shared. That said, three of my four Windows 10 computers can print to the Windows 7 shared printer, but one cannot find it, so I have to print to PDF and transfer that file to a computer that can print. I am not real happy, but it works as a work-around.
I suspect that my problem is that I first connected the printer to a USB 3 port and it needs a USB 2 port. So when I connected it to the correct port, Windows still thinks it is connected to the other port. I don't know how to tell Windows not to do that. And no one here has been able to help. I have tried removing the printer driver and removing the printer from the computer, and then re-installing, but that doesn't change anything.
I think it is sad that HP makes a printer and driver that is dumber than Windows 10, and WIndows 10 is pretty dumb.
In my opinion. the CP 4025 is a great printer. Just needs a more intelligent driver.
I do hope someone here can help you. Good luck.
