I'm try to perform a CP3525 duplex conversion (yes I know...) I have swapped out all the parts I thought I needed including the mechanical feed parts & motors, DC controller board, high voltage boards and it still thinks it's a simplex model. What have I missed? Where is the duplex identity stored? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Identity is embedded in several locations and simply swapping components will not give you that function unless you transfer ALL boards at the same time including the formatter. Once you have transferred one board, in most cases it will overwrite all the other boards. At one point I had a 3005 that lost it's duplex identity and it required a specialized file from HP to reprogram and on a unit this old it is unlikely that HP will offer to do that, and not without a charge.

Hi repairatrooper, thanks for your reply. So because I didn't initially swap the formatter along with all the other boards I'm stuffed and they now all think they're simplex with no way back... or could I possibly have missed some other board somewhere? Probably grasping at straws I know.
