Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I set up a HP envy 6022e printer for a friend. He had an older HP printer and used the ePrint option to email stuff to the printer.

Is this option still available on this printer?

I found the option to set up eprint on the HP Smart app, but it needed a code. The code was supposable available by printing the info page from the Web services option from the embedded web server. However, whenever I click the option, nothing happens.

All the web services options are available and enabled, and the printer is connected to the internet.

I'm therefore wondering if this option is no longer available and you need to use the Print Everywhere option instead.

All help very much appreicated.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

This is correct -

The old "ePrint" process has been replaced with "Print Anywhere" on newer printers.

HP Printers - Print Anywhere with the HP Smart App

 Step 3:  Use Print Anywhere

NOTE:  If a print job is blocked for more than 5 minutes, the HP Smart app cancels the job automatically.

For HP+ enabled printers only >> Open Subsection:  Private Pickup

Enable / Disable the service to hold the print job until the person who sent it is near the printer.

Many thanks for your informative reply.

Just to confirm, the Print Anywhere option does not allow you to email the printer  - in the same way that ePrint did?

You are welcome.

True -

The process used to create and send print jobs to your printer's email address is not the same as was used with ePrint.

There are similarities but Print Anywhere is not the same as ePrint.

Reference:    HP Printers - Print Anywhere with the HP Smart App

Excerpted from the how-to document:

Section:  Step 3: Use Print Anywhere

Print remotely, check printer status, and make copies using your device camera when remotely connected with Print Anywhere. Use Print Anywhere features when you are away from your printer and your device is on a cellular connection or on a different wireless network. Some app features and printer settings are not available with Print Anywhere connections. Remote printer is shown in HP Smart with a green cloud icon
