I currently have Windows 7 on my PC and I need a new printer. Does anyone know if a hp office jet Pro 8135e is  usable with Window 7 (64 bits)? I really want to keep my windows 7 if possible. Thanks!

Hi @Shirley2024,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Yes, you can use the HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer with Windows 7 (64-bit), but it’s essential to install the correct drivers. Here are the steps to set it up:

Download Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for "HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e" and select your printer model.
  • Choose the "Drivers & Software" section and select Windows 7 (64-bit) as your operating system.
  • Download the appropriate driver.

Install Drivers:

  • Once the driver is downloaded, open the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver on your Windows 7 machine.
  • Make sure to connect the printer to your computer via USB or set it up on the same network if using Wi-Fi.

Connect Printer:

  • If using USB, plug the printer into your computer. If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Set as Default Printer:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e and select "Set as default printer."

Print a Test Page:

  • Right-click on the printer icon again and select "Printer properties."
  • Click on "Print Test Page" to verify that the printer is working correctly.

Note: As far as the drivers are available for Windows 7 64bit, this should do the work. Or I am afraid it may not work.

Once these steps are complete, your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e should be ready to use with your Windows 7 system!

I appreciate your help with using my hp office jet pro 8135e with my Windows 7 OS but after another attempt, I was told that Windows 7 was no longer available for this printer. I am very disappointed because I love Windows 7 and do not look forward to having to upgrade. I am a senior citizen and my motto is...if it ain't broke don't fix it but i really appreciate your help! Thanks!!
