Hi @AliffIrvine,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I completely understand your concern. The Image Transfer Belt (ITB) is a critical component in color laser printers, and replacing it can be costly if not covered under warranty.
Does HP Warranty Cover the Image Transfer Belt?
Here’s what you need to know:
Standard HP Warranty Coverage
- HP’s standard limited warranty typically does not cover consumables or maintenance parts that are expected to wear out over time, and unfortunately, the Image Transfer Belt (ITB) usually falls into this category.
- It’s considered a user-replaceable maintenance item, much like toner or fuser kits.
Exceptions
- If your printer is still under warranty and the ITB failure is due to a manufacturing defect (not wear and tear), HP may cover it.
- If you have an HP Care Pack or extended warranty that includes maintenance kits, then the ITB might be covered.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
