Hi @Gibby18,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Great question! Your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer does not support remote power-on via a print command from your laptop.

What You Can Do

  1. Leave the Printer in Sleep Mode
    • If the printer is on but idle, it will enter sleep mode to save power.
    • When you send a print job, it will wake up automatically and print.

  2. Enable Auto-Off Settings (Optional)
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Preferences > Auto-Off.
    • You can adjust how long it waits before turning off completely.

  3. Use a Smart Plug (Optional Hardware Solution)
    • If you want to power on the printer remotely, consider using a Wi-Fi smart plug.
    • You can then turn the printer on via your phone or voice assistant before printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
