Help still needed PLEASE.
The Printer dropped off on the connection to my Mobile Phone yet again and I  am having trouble once again finding the printer via the HP App. Why does this keep happening? Can anyone shed any light on this please?
 
Update: I think this problem has something to do with the setting / pop up for WiFi Direct printers. I have got my phone to connect again but when the pop up showed I did not allow 'connect automatically in future'. The printer via mobile is working again but not sure for how long. If anyone has any reasoning or ideas please get in touch. The pop up appears to come from HP.
 
Can anyone help please? I have used the HP Mobile App for printing for some time but then it just stopped working a few days ago. I have tried everything. My HP C309g printer is attached to my WiFi and I can use my PC and laptop to print via WiFi  with no problem. My printer confirms all is connected yet the app cannot find it now. I have reset my printer, reset the hub and uninstalled / reinstalled HP Smart and Plug in. I have even cleared all my cache and history on my phone. Turned phone of / on but the connection just won't play ball using the mobile app. I did manage to get it to work again a couple of days ago but then it just dropped off again and I have been unable to connect since.

The permissions for the app say 'not allowed' see attached and it will not allow me to turn permissions on either. Is this the issue?

Can anyone help please? I have a Samsung Galaxy S9plus and have used this app on this device before. I have tried another app (not HP) and it finds my printer quickly so it is definitely this app that is the problem. Thank you.Screenshot_20210414-053832_Permission controller.jpg

Are you able to print if you connect via the Printer's WiFi-Direct?

 

Please ensure the printer has the latest Firmware and try assigning a manual IP Address

1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can print a Network Configuration page to obtain the IP address.

2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.

3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.

4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)

5) Click Manual IP

6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.

7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.

The printer is all definitely attached to the WiFi correctly. See attached. 

 

It is the HP Smart App on my mobile that is causing problems. It cannot find my Printer and all permissions are set to 'not allowed'. That cannot be altered. Please refer to all the complaints on the App.

 

I have an Android phone version 10 (Samsung Galaxy S9plus) and since the App update we are no longer able to print direct from our mobiles. We cannot reset to a previous version of the App so we are left unsupported.

 

The WiFi Direct option  fails too as it cannot find my printer.

 

What do you suggest? Who is responsible for the HP Smart App as messages come back saying unmonitored?

Is there any update regarding my problem please? I can print via WiFi using my tablet but the HP App on my mobile cannot find my printer. It worked perfectly before the update but now won't allow any permissions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything without success. I have tried to search WiFi  Direct and by putting in the IP address from the Printer Configuration page but it still cannot find it. I have ran all updates. 

There are so many other users having the same problem ... please advise.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
