Wanted to thank you for all your help. I went through all your instructions again but this time after shutting down my work computer which shares the printer. After deleting the printer and software and reinstalling both, the printer is printing IN COLOR from both computers. Your help was invaluable!

So glad to hear you were able to get out of that greyscale vortex! Sometimes just starting from scratch with the printer setup puts everything into its place. Thank you for the kudos and for using the forums.

Hello - I read through your prior suggestions regarding how to get the HP laserjet3600n to print in color.
I have a few things going on - firstly - it only prints in greyscale... I checked the preferences and it is set print in color. It does not do so
and sometimes I have to run the trouble shooter for the printer to activate and print over a wireless network. I'd be happy solving the first problem - ie it prints only grey.
any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I have upgraded firmware - reloaded the driver - cold reset the printer - none of these help - thank you in advance

Update: now all appears to be working - I am not sure exactly what caused this to work - however I performed the following:
1. Cold Reset of printer
2. Uninstall driver programs and printer
3. Restart computer
4. Powered down router and printer - restarted router - then printer
5. Reinstalled programs and drivers
now all works - thank you.

Hi @MRSMaccas
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
Adding the printer using TCP/IP port may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:
1) Tap the wireless icon on the printer screen to obtain the IP address of the printer.
2) Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
3) Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
4) Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
5) Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I solved the grayscale issue by resetting the printer to default and powering down.
remove the printer from settings- devices- printers and scanners
reboot computer....
Then I went to the old control panel ( type control into search bar at bottom)
Make sure you are on view by icons
go to Devices And Printers click on add printer and follow the prompts.....
I then had the option to print in color or grayscale..... color option worked perfect
It seems adding under the new windows settings option doesn't work properly, have to go back to Control Panel..
