macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi there,

I recently bought a new iMac with operating system Monterey OS 12.2.1.

I downloaded and tried to install the driver for my printer, HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP. I couldn't install it because the error message I get is "This update requires macOS version 12.0 or earlier."

The only other option my iMac gives me for a driver is "Generic PCL Printer" and if I use this diver I can send a file to print, it says it's printing but does not print.

Has anyone else had this same issue? Anyone have a work around for this?

Hi,

Please make sure your macOS is fully up to date by installing any update for your macOS:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541

Next, uninstall any existing HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller Utility below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/HP_Uninstaller...

Next, download and install the latest drivers below:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?locale=en_US

Finally,  open System Preferences, and then open Printers & Scanners to re-add your printer. be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu.
