Officejet 6000 Wireless
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My Officejet 6000 Wireless (690n) decided to stop working wirelessly, sending me on a spree trying to fix it the past few days. Over the days, it got to the point of where I couldn't even connect wired to the printer, but I'm not able to connect wirelessly through my router, but the router still has to be plugged into the printer through an Ethernet cable. I want to go back to no wires, period, so I've tried the "Configure Wireless Network" option in my HP software only to be told to temporarily connect to my computer via USB cable...except that my computer stopped recognizing my USB connection so nothing happens when you plug it into the computer.

I've gone into my printer's network. It says that the network interface is enabled but is listed as "No" under Connection Active. It also says that my IPv4 and DNSv4 are "Unconfigured."

Anyone know what's going on, and how I can get my USB port to work so as to continue with the wireless configuration?

It should be mentioned that during all of this prodding that the USB port did work a few days ago. I know it's not the cables; I've used multiple different USB cables to be sure. And my Device Manager shows my USB hardware enabled and up-to-date on its drivers.

Also, in my Device Manager, it's showing two instances of the printer plus and "unknown device." When I go through the wizard to update the drivers, it doesn't say that they are up-to-date, but that they can't be found. It's weird it's showing any error at all since the printer is clearly already an added device that I can use.
