Can't Scan using Office Jet Pro 7720 Printer is showing off line

Printer / scanner are both showing as OFF LINE. I can print documents but no scanner

To assist you better, which application are you using to scan?

Are you using the HP Smart app?

If you are able to print, it means the connectivity between the devices is fine. 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix scanning'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try scanning using this HP utility.
