I am trying to set up and connect this printer to my laptop, MacBook Pro OS 15.4.1. The printer is connected to the modem via an Ethernet cable. I tried two different cables, just in case, but I still haven't had any luck. I am trying to connect with the printer using the IP address. I downloaded the driver, but it is not compatible with my OS; it requires an older version. Also, I have reset the modem and the printer multiple times, and still no luck. The network information report says that it is connected.
Any suggestions...?

Hi @RaulPalma,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand that you're attempting to set up your HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer with your MacBook Pro running macOS 15.4.1 (Sequoia) via Ethernet and have encountered difficulties due to compatibility issues.
At this time, the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf does not have a dedicated HP driver package for macOS 15.4.1 (Sequoia). However, macOS includes built-in support for many HP printers through AirPrint. We recommend attempting to set up the printer using this method:
Steps to Add the Printer via AirPrint
- Ensure the printer is powered on and connected via Ethernet.
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel.
- On your Mac:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the "+" button to add a printer.
- If your printer appears in the list, select it.
- In the "Use" dropdown menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint.
- Click Add to complete the setup.
If the printer does not appear, select the IP tab, and enter the IP address shown on the Network Configuration Page. Then follow the same steps to use AirPrint if available.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
