Hey, I reset the wireless settings on my printer and now I cannot set it up with my new wireless. It is asking for a "custom printer password," which I do not remember as the printer is a few years old. I tried printing the printer information page, but it did not have the password. I tried the default password 12345678, but I must have changed it. Can someone please contact me on how to reset the password to the default 12345678, or change it? Thanks.

@salromito, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
The password 12345678 is for Wifi-Direct. If you have a wireless router, kindly connect the printer to the router.
To connect the printer to your wireless network, refer to - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. This model printer only connects to a 2.4GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
You may also refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)
If the printer is asking for the admin password, we will have to perform a factory reset.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
