HP color laserjet pro mfp m283fdw

I updated my Mac OS to 15.2 and lost my previous WiFi connection. I reconnected the printer to my router, then tried reloading the printer driver, which I found on hp.com, but when I clicked on download, i couldn’t find the driver on my computer.

Hi @Longrider77

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems you're having trouble downloading the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer driver for your Mac laptop running macOS 15.2.

Here are some steps and workarounds to help:

Use HP Easy Start:

Download the HP Easy Start tool from HP's official website. This tool automatically detects and installs the necessary drivers for your printer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Check for Built-in macOS Drivers:

macOS often includes built-in drivers for many printers. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."

Click the "+" icon to add your printer. If it appears, select it and check if it installs using the default macOS driver.

Use AirPrint:

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw supports AirPrint. Ensure your printer and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

When printing, select the printer as the "AirPrint" option from the printer list.

Update macOS:

Ensure your macOS is fully updated. Sometimes, newer updates include improved compatibility for printers.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
