Please follow below guidelines to troubleshoot a such, an outdated operating system may cause any such as an example:

https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/ish_6798169-6798236-16

 

Please also clarify your printer model, to ensure it being used with the HP Smart app and not with any another solution.
