My printer will print (though not in colour) though it will print in colour on a test sheet, and its status is 'connected' but it also has a message that it can't connect to the server. Also when I enter the product serial number to add to my help request it states it's not valid though I'm sure I copied it in correctly and I can see it on my HP Network configuration report page. I looked at the recommended solution on the HP Community site but the last step is to use the 'HP eprint' icon' and then select 'remove web services' and then add them again after a minute. I can't find such an icon on my printer. Are these problems because of the age of my printer which is a HP Photosmart  6510 a? My operating system is Windows 11 and has been for some years. My printer I bought around 12 years ago. Also I can't seem to download the HP help and support installation and HP can't seem to find my printer.

Hi @Mixawixa,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that the absence of the 'HP ePrint' icon or the option to 'remove web services' on your HP Photosmart 6510 might be related to several potential issues. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

Ensure Web Services are Enabled:

  • From the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard.
  • Tap the HP ePrint icon and verify if Web Services are enabled.

Check Printer Model Support:

  • Verify that your specific printer model supports HP ePrint services. While Photosmart series printers like HP 6510 often support Web Services, not all models have identical capabilities, especially older models.

Remove Web Services

  • Using Printer Control Panel:
  • Swipe down the tab from the top of the screen to open the Dashboard.
  • Tap (HP ePrint) > (Web Services Settings).
  • Tap on Remove Web Services, and follow on-screen instructions.

Using Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Access the printer's EWS by typing the printer's IP address into a web browser.
  • Click the Web Services tab, and then click Remove Web Services.

Printing Issues

  • If your printer is not printing in color except on test sheets:
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure all color ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.
  • Printer Settings: Ensure that your print jobs are not inadvertently set to print in a monochrome mode in the print settings on your computer.
  • Printer Software Update: Visit the HP support website to ensure your printer firmware and software are up-to-date.

Take care and have an amazing day!
