Hello newbie here,
I am trying to install the wireless feature of this printer (LaserJet CP1518ni).
- All help and KB articles refer to the software that came with the Printer (which I don't have).
- Links then point to download the software/driver page for my printer. There is no software to download from this page: "Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update Install the HP Printer Driver and Software provided within your operating system."
- The driver is installed and I can connect to the printer via Ethernet and USB (I have deleted the printer setup for both of these in case that was causing an issue).
- All help articles assume you have downloaded the setup utility/software. But I cannot find anywhere the HP setup software can be downloaded and installed.
I have gone around in circles, but keep coming back to the same page. What am I missing?
Key help articles I've been using are:
- https://www.hpsmart.com/us/en/wireless-printing/installing-printer-software
- and the video on https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Color-LaserJet-CP1000-Printer-series/3422465/mod...
Many thanks for your assistance with this.
Cheers,
Tys.

Hi,
The CP1518ni printer offer USB or wired Ethernet connectivity, it does not provide any wireless capabilities and therefore a such is not applicable for your printer.
For network connectivity you may connect it with an Ethernet (RJ45) cable to your router.
You may find its specifications attached, see the Interface section:

Hi,
You should not install any driver, but the drivers should install from Apple when adding the printer under Printers & Scanners.
If that fails for any reason, install below package from Apple:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?locale=en_US
Next, connect the printer to your Mac and add it under Printers & Scanners.
Be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu.

Hi Shlomi,
Thank you very much for your response.
Unfortunately, the driver is not the problem. As you say, the drivers are already present when I add the printer.
Sorry if I was unclear in my OP, but the issue is the WIFI configuration software as described in the documentation and help videos. This is supposedly available on the same page that the driver is typically downloaded, but no such software exists that I can find.
Do you know where I can download that software from?
Or can I set the wifi network for the printer without that software (its an older printer)?
Many thanks,
Tys.

Thanks so much.
Now I know why I couldn't find the software. 😟
The person who gave me the printer told me it was a wireless printer, and I didn't even think to check. (Perhaps he had it connected to his router).
Problem solved. Many thanks for your assistance.
Cheers,
Tys.
