HP LaserJet Pro 3001dwe Printer

I'm running into a major issue. I went onsite to set up a Laserjet Pro 3001dwe for a customer. The customer runs a Macbook Pro running Mac OS 12 Monterey. I activated the printer using the easy start software per the instructiions. Set up the pairing code and got it activated on the HP App online setup, then it moved to setting up via the HP App, downloaded from the App Store. Basically it shows the printer in the list, but the next step is to install the drivers to the local printer, which opens the printers and scanners menu item from settings. I hit the + like it instructs me to do, and it shows the printer and that it connects via Bonjour. When I click the printer the add button is still greyed out. Down in the third field it has the information for the driver to use initially showing Auto Select, then it cycles and greys out that option and it shows select software or other. Select software shows several printers, none of which are this unit, and other shows the explorer, I'm assuming it's looking for a .pkg file or something. The HP support driver page for this unit only shows a firmware upgrade and under drivers the only option is to use the HP app. Some help or a link to the driver software would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
