I have spent hours trying to connect my computer to the deskjet 2752e and I can't get it figured out. My housing here at college doesn't have great internet. Can this printer just be hooked to my laptop(MacBook) without going thru the internet.

@sreich, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you are not able to connect the printer wirelessly.
The printer cannot be connected to a University/guest wifi network. You may connect it to a personal network if you have access to a router.
If not, you may connect the printer and the Mac via a USB cable.
Check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
-
If you already connected the printer USB cable to your computer, disconnect it, and then remove the printer from your computer.
Click the Apple icon
, click System Preferences, and then click Printers & Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax. Select the name of your printer, click the Minus sign
, and then restart the computer.
-
Make sure an open USB port is available on your computer. Do not connect the printer to a USB hub or docking station as the printer might not receive enough power to operate properly.
-
Go to HP Smart - Mac App Store and install the HP Smart app.
-
Open the app, and then follow the guided installation to complete the setup. If the setup does not begin automatically, click the Plus sign
to add your printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
