Hi @BULLISB,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Neverstop Laser 1001 printer. There could be several reasons why it won't start. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Power source: Ensure that the printer is properly plugged into a working power outlet. Check the power cord for any damage or loose connections. You may also want to try plugging the printer into a different outlet to rule out any power issues.
  • Power button: Make sure you're pressing the power button correctly and holding it for a few seconds. Some printers have a delayed startup process, so holding the button for a short period may not be sufficient.
  • Display and lights: Check if there are any lights or indicators on the printer. If the printer has an LCD or LED display, see if it shows any error messages or status information that could help diagnose the issue.
  • Paper tray and covers: Ensure that the paper tray is properly inserted and that all covers and trays are securely closed. Some printers have safety mechanisms that prevent them from starting if any covers or trays are open.
  • Reset the printer: If the printer remains unresponsive, try performing a power reset. To do this, unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, wait for about 1-2 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord. Afterward, try turning on the printer again.
  • Firmware update: If the printer is still not starting, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Visit the HP website and look for firmware updates specific to your printer. Updating the firmware might resolve any software-related issues that could be causing the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for trying.   Nothing worked.  Called Customer Service.  suggested a new power cord.  Same dead printer.

Only 17 months old.  Relatively low usage.  a true lemon.  and because I did not buy extended warranty HP couldn't care less.
