I have an Office Jet Pro 8030
It won't print content from my computer.
I have used the app to try and repair and it will print the test pages but not anything from my computer or my chrome browser. I have checked so make sure that the computer and the printer are on the same internet connection.
I have un installed and re installed the printer.
Nothing seems to be working and it was working fine last week.
What gives and what do I need to get this fixed?

@JonB255, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 can print test pages but not documents from Chrome or other applications, it indicates that the printer is functioning properly, but there may be a software or communication issue between your applications and the Windows printing system. Here’s a step-by-step troubleshooting guide:
Run the Windows Troubleshooter
- Navigate to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Locate Printer and click Run.
- Follow the instructions provided. This often resets background print services or resolves permission issues.
Verify the Default Printer
- Press Windows + I to access Settings.
- Go to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Confirm that your OfficeJet Pro 8030 is set as the default printer.
- If it isn’t, select it and click Set as default.
Attempt Printing from Another Application
Try printing a PDF or Word document (not from Chrome). If this works:
- The issue may lie with Chrome—reset it by going to:
Settings > Reset and clean up > Restore settings to their original defaults.
Clear the Print Queue and Restart Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete all files in that folder.
Reinstall the Printer with Full Software
- Uninstall all HP printer software via Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Visit the official HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 Drivers page and download the Full Feature Software and Driver, not just the basic version.
- Install it and reconnect the printer when prompted.
Examine Firewall/Antivirus Settings
Certain security software may block printing. Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or firewall (like McAfee or Norton) and attempt to print again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
