Dear HP Management & Support,
I am so disappointed right now with your company. WHY on Earth would you make it DIFFICULT to install the drivers & HPEasyStart_16_6_10.exe software for the HP DeskJet 3790 printer on Windows Server 2016? Why? 😏

After all, it is merely the server version of Windows 10 Pro. Furthermore, some users prefer installing Windows Server 2016/2019 as a super efficient WORKSTATION (not server) via the popular WindowsWorkstation.com website because it runs waaaay better than Windows 10.

I just don't know HOW your Project Managers & Developers could even fathom that YOUR CUSTOMERS would NEVER think of installing a recent DeskJet printer on a server and, you know, SHARE it perhaps??? 😏 What the heck? Why are you forcing us to investigate alternative printer manufacturers??

And worse, I can't even enter the **bleep** product serial number [Personal Information Removed]in the Support form here so that I can create a ticket: https://support.hp.com/emea_africa-en/contact
Lame! It keeps saying Please enter a valid serial number😕

Diagnostics:
1) Anyhow, I tried downloading a Cabinet file from this link & add the driver Manually in Devices & Printers:
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=hp+deskjet+3700

It does show up now, and I was able to print a not complete test page.

2) Then Windows Update tried to install HP - Image - 48.2.4522.0 and HP - Image - 2/18/2019 12:00:00 AM - 48.2.4522.0 but its showing a Failed to install on 13-Jul-24 message.

3) Print & Scan Doctor shows a Driver Error with Driver check highlighted.
So, so frustrating as I am here at my client's site.

Any suggestions, please??
If we can't install this on said Windows Server, I'm afraid this will be my last HP printer purchase for ALL of my customers because this is unacceptable in 2024.
Unhappily yours.

Well, I figured it out for myself!

Solution: Download the  HP Universal Print Driver for Windows 64-bit here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-universal-print-driver-series-for-windows/model/3271552

Note: The DeskJet 3700 series supports PCL3 (ie. PostScript) so use this installer here which handles PCL2 & PCL3 printers:
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit):
upd-ps-x64-7.2.0.25780.exe (23.9MB)

For those with PCL5 or PCL6 PostScript printers, use this installer:
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit):
upd-pcl6-x64-7.2.0.25780.exe (22.7MB)

Cheers!
