HP LaserJet P2035n Printer

I built a new computer and have tried to get my networked HP2025n up and running on this new Windows 11 machine without success.  I hope someone here can help.   The printer is working just fine from other computers on the network running Windows 10 and 11.   I can access the printer on the new computer though its IP address without trouble and print configuration pages from there.   I installed the printer driver using the ljP2035-gdi-pnp-win64-en package.   It ended in a success message.  However, I was still unable to print from Word.   Currently, I am seeing a Driver is not available message in my Windows 11 control panel and am unable to remove the printer to reinstall it.  I have tried reinstalling the drivers and noticed that the setup in the ljP2035-gdi-pnp-win64-en package seems to be much shorter and does not end with any notification of success.  In the Device Manager, the only printer listed is Unknown device (uninstall it, and it returns).  Under the WSD Print Provider, the NPI7C588A (HP Laserjet 2035n) is listed and the device status indicates that it’s working properly.   At this point, I’m not able to print anything but printer test pages 😊  With the help of HP Tech support, I reattempted the installation of the drivers and ran the HP Easy Start program.  The problem remains.  Any thoughts about how I can resolve this issue?   I could probably connect via USB but would like to get this going in its intended configuration as a networked printer.

I was able to (finally) remove the printer and, while I still have some printer issues to sort, I am able to print most documents without difficulty.  After stopping the print spooler and the HP printer services, I used Device Manager to remove the printer – I had to use the View->Show Hidden Devices option to see it.  So, case closed on the printer removal problem.  Thanks for reading this.

I suggest you try using the HP Smart Universal Printer Driver. https://support.hp.com/ca-en/help/smartupd

Thanks for your willingness to help and your advice.  The real challenge for me here was deleting the printer in its "Driver not found" state.  Once I was able to do that, I reinstalled the printer and, magically, it worked.   There were some speed bumps along the way but I was fortunate that the driver specific to the HP 2035 and 2035n was able to work in the end.  Had that not been the case, the smart universal printer driver would have been the next step.  Thank you, again for your response and recommendation.

Best,

Matt
