I have connected my HP Envy 5030 to my wired network by connecting a USB-A to B (printer cable) between the printer and my pc, which has an ethernet cable run to a router. I am able to print from pc to printer, but when I scan it doesn't work. My printer does show my pc name, so I am sure it is connected. I don't need/want a wireless connection. When I try to download the drivers through HP Easy Start it gives me a connection error that wishes me to check if my router is working etc. Yes, my pc is connected to a router. It wishes me to try again (which never works) or go the hp site to download the driver. However, that site gives me the same file that sets up the Easy Start programme which AGAIN results in the error message, making it a circle. I'm stuck now, what must I do to download the drivers when my printer is already connected to my pc which in turn is connected to the internet through an ethernet cable?
