HP Smart Tank Plus 651. Out of warranty. Bought off E-Bay, New but older. My son tried to set it up for me but the printer got stuck on Fill ink, close door. So it is not installed. Tried all the unplug etc things but can't get past that command and so it is not installed . Need advice please.

Hi @Dusty77

1. First check that Ink tanks are filled up and also look inside for a possible paper jammed inside.

2. Then follow steps from the next video:

3. Also try a small test for the Closed door sensor using a pencil to push a little bit the part shown in the next picture, push and see if the message changes on the screen display on the printer.

  • It doesn't change that display message, then it could be a broken sensor. 🤔

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Must be a sensor issue.

Ok, maybe you need to check your options for return that printer with your vendor.
