I cannot log into the HP Smart app. I even tried created a new hp.com account with a different email. Same error. This prevents me from using the app to scan, I must use go to the printer's IP address which is not ideal.

Thank you for your note but it is, I think, I bit off the mark.
- You mention it might be a credential mistake but I don't think that is the issue for these three reasons:
- I can log in to this forum with the same user ID and password
- if I enter the wrong credentials when trying to log into the HP Smart app. I get a specific "invalid password" message and not the long error code that started this thread.
- I can use the same credentials to log into the IOS app on both my iPhone and iPad
- You suggest clearing the "browser cache" but since HP Smart appears to be a Windows 10 app, there doesn't seem to me to be a setting the clear the 'cache' in the app. If there is, please let me know how to do that and I will try it.
- You suggest trying a different browser but since the problem is logging into the HP Smart app, I don't understand how I can "try a different browser". Again, if I am missing something, please help me understand this direction.
- You suggest I check the service status but that is not the issue. I have tried to log in many different days and times and the server would have to be down virtually constantly to continue to have the same error.
Finally, when a product has such a specific error code, OW_500_OWSID00001, my experience has been that the developers create those codes to make troubleshooting easier. As an HP person, can't you simply look up the error code to see what the program authors believe the root cause to be?
I do appreciate your working on this and if there is any chance you could kick this up a notch to help me solve the problem, I would be very grateful.
