Hello,
I bought my printer a few months ago and set it up with no issues. It was working fine at first, then after a few weeks it stopped printing from my laptop, with a message to say driver is unavailable. I've tried a few fixes and that message is no longer there. In the Windows printers & scanners folder, the printer is now set to default and says 'app available for this device'.
In the HP Smart app, printer information shows the following information:
Installation status: Installed
Connection Type: Network (Wireless)
Connection status: Active
On the dashboard, printer is fully installed and showing as ready.
But when i send something to print, i get an error message.
I've tried the following:
1. Uninstalling/reinstalling the printer - I completely uninstalled all drivers and the HP Smart app and started fresh.
2. Rebooting modem and laptop
3. Uninstalling latest windows updates
4. HP Print and Scan Doctor
5. WIndows Toubleshooting for printers
6. Stopping/starting print spooler services and deleting files manually.
I'm at a total loss and so sick of spending far too much of my time trying to get this printer to just work. It's an absolute nightmare!!
Does anyone have any solutions?
Many thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Are you able to copy?
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:
