Recently updated MAC IOS. Printer has decided not to print from applications now. I get the following and a number of blank pages until I cancel the print. This typically from "Pages, Numbers, Mail, Chrome, etc."

Anyone else having issues?  Have talked with HP and the tech got the printer installed again, but this still occurs. He thought by purchasing a new black ink cartridge it would fix the issue. (Ink was low at the time)

I understand how frustrating this must be — you just want to print, and now you’re getting these strange PostScript errors and blank pages. Let’s try to get this sorted out!

 

Since you’ve already worked with an HP tech and reinstalled the printer, it sounds like the basics have been covered — but don’t worry, we can dig a bit deeper. Here are a few things we can try:

 

Reset the printing system on your Mac:

  • Go to System SettingsPrinters & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control + click) on the printer list and select Reset printing system.
  • After it resets, try adding the printer again and test a print job.

Check for driver updates:

  • Visit the HP website and search for the latest driver for the HP ENVY 6055e that’s compatible with the latest MacOS version.
  • Download and install it, even if you think it’s up to date — sometimes reinstalling can fix communication issues.

Test with a different format:

  • Try printing a simple PDF file or a text file (like a Note) instead of a document from Pages or Numbers.
  • If the PDF prints fine but Pages or Numbers doesn’t, the issue might be with how the Mac is processing those files for the printer.

To help narrow this down, could you clarify a couple of things?

  • Did this start happening immediately after the MacOS update, or did it take a while to show up?
  • Have you spoken to another HP agent about this issue before? If so, you might have a case ID — please feel free to share that with me in a private message so we can pick up from where you left off.
