Hello, Whenever I print a document or photo the result is always in black & white although I have selected color. Only by printing through the HP ePrint service does the print come out in color. When I go back to the print settings I find the Color Mode set back to monochrome. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Joe

One possibility is that when installed the driver failed to detect the color ability of the printer. Here is a quick check. On your PC go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Click on the advanced tab and see what driver is being used. If the driver shows as a Microsoft IPP or Class driver that is not an HP driver and may not work properly. Reinstall using the correct driver. If the driver states it is an HP driver then the next step is to click on the device settings tab, scroll down to installable options and find the heading Device type and change it to color.

On the basis of the indications you provided I was able to access a tab where I could update the associated HP driver. I also noticed that the driver was associated to the scanner 3830 and not the printer 3830. I modified that setting and it finally worked. Thank you!
