I’m trying to put my HP Envy 6052 printer in setup mode by pressing the wifi button below the power button for 5 seconds and it does nothing. I need to change the wifi connection and can’t do that without putting the printer in setup mode. Any suggestions?

Hi @giron1950,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble putting your HP Envy 6052 printer into setup mode using the described method, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Verify the Printer's Status: Make sure that the printer is turned on and in a ready state before attempting to put it in setup mode.
  • Press and Hold the Button Properly: Ensure that you are pressing and holding the WiFi button below the power button for a full 5 seconds. Use a timer or count slowly to make sure you're holding it for the correct duration.
  • Reset the Printer: If the printer is unresponsive, try performing a power cycle. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on. After it restarts, attempt to put it in setup mode again.
  • Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or lights on the printer's display that might indicate an issue. Refer to the printer's manual for information on interpreting error messages.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  • Connect via USB: As an alternative, you can connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable. Once connected, you may be able to change the WiFi settings through the printer software on your computer.
  • Consult the Manual: Refer to the printer's manual or documentation for specific instructions on how to enter setup mode and change the WiFi settings. The manual may provide additional information or alternative methods.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
