Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer worked flawlessly for about 2 months, but then I started having trouble with my computers being able see the printer online.

Even after my issues started, HP Smart was always able to see the printer, could see that it was in Ready status, and even read the ink levels. Even after clicking on Forget this printer, HP Smart was still able to re-add the the printer.

However, none of my Windows computers were ever able to see the printer in the Printer Device settings. Manually adding fixed the issue once, but it quickly started failing again.

And then I decided to do a full reset ...

After the printer started up, it wanted to print an alignment page before setting up the network. However, I am using Instant Ink cartridges so it won't allow the alignment page to print. So I am now unable to use this printer at all, because I can't get past the setup without spending money on new cartridges, even though I am currently enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program.

@doughless, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the printer is stuck at alignment. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document -  Alignment errors

Re-insert the ink cartridges and make sure it is not low/empty.

To resolve any ink cartridge related issues, refer to - Ink cartridge errors

HP Instant Ink cartridges will not stop the printer from completing the alignment process.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Removing and reinserting the cartridges doesn't help. They are INSTANT INK cartridges, and even though I have a subscription, the printer won't allow them to print because it isn't logged in, yet. And I can't get logged in until the alignment page prints. Thanks for getting my printer stuck in an infinite loop.

I was already wary of signing up for the instant ink program in the first place, and this just confirmed my suspicions that it's really as bad as I feared. I'm returning the printer since I can't get it to work now. Already have my Instant Ink cartridges ready to go in your prepaid return package.
