Hi @POPPOPHAXTON

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how disappointing it feels when your new HP Envy 6552e isn’t being detected by the computer, especially after you’ve already tried setting it up.

You’ve taken the right step by attempting the initial setup, so let’s go through a clear path to get the printer recognized.

Steps to connect your HP Envy 6552e

1. Prepare the printer for setup

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and the wireless light is blinking.
  • If it isn’t blinking, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light starts flashing. This puts the printer into setup mode.

2. Install the HP App

  • Download the HP App for Windows from the official page:
    HP App – Windows Download
  • Open the app, sign in with your HP account, and select Add Printer.
  • The app will search for printers in setup mode and guide you through connecting to Wi‑Fi.

3. Add printer manually if not detected

  • In Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select Add device.
  • If the printer doesn’t appear automatically, choose Add manually > Add a printer using TCP/IP address.
  • Enter the printer’s IP address (you can print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel to find this).

4. Update drivers and firmware

  • Visit the official HP support page for your model:
HP Envy 6552e Drivers and Software
  • Download and install the latest drivers and firmware.
  • Restart both the printer and computer after installation.

5. Confirm network connection

  • Ensure your computer and printer are on the same Wi‑Fi network.
  • If your router has multiple bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), connect both devices to the same band.
  • Test by printing a Wireless Test Report from the printer’s control panel.

Summary

The most effective immediate actions are to put the printer into setup mode, use the HP App to add it, and install the latest drivers from HP’s support page. If automatic detection fails, adding the printer manually by IP address usually resolves the issue.
