Hi @Raabe,

Thank you for your response,

The Scan to Folder and Scan to Email setup on your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer can be complex due to multiple steps and dependencies. Here's a detailed guide to help you resolve these issues.

Scan to Folder Setup

Ensure Network Connection:

  • Make sure your printer and the computer are on the same network.

Create a Shared Folder:

  • On your computer, create a folder for scanned files.
  • Right-click the folder, select Properties, go to the Sharing tab, and click Share.
  • Select Everyone or specific users and assign Read/Write permissions.

Obtain Folder Path and IP Address:

  • Note the folder path (e.g., \\YourComputerName\SharedFolderName).
  • Obtain the computer’s IP address:
    • On Windows: Open Command Prompt and type ipconfig. Look for the IPv4 address.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Network.

Set Up Scan to Folder on the Printer:

  • Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
    • Open a web browser, type your printer’s IP address, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to Scan > Scan to Network Folder.
  • Enter the folder path, username, and password for accessing the shared folder on your computer.
  • Save the settings.

Scan to Email Setup

Obtain SMTP Server Information:

  • Check your email provider’s SMTP settings:
    • Gmail: smtp.gmail.com (Port 465 or 587)
    • Outlook: smtp.office365.com (Port 587)
    • Yahoo: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Port 465 or 587)

Enable Less Secure Apps (if required):

  • Some email providers require enabling "less secure apps" or app-specific passwords for third-party apps. Check your email account settings.

Set Up Scan to Email on the Printer:

  • Access the printer’s EWS.
  • Go to Scan > Scan to Email Setup.
  • Enter the required SMTP settings, your email address, and password.
  • Test the connection to ensure it works.

Troubleshooting Tips

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for and install any firmware updates for the printer via the HP Support website or the HP Smart app.

Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Ensure your computer’s firewall or security software isn’t blocking the printer.

Documentation:

  • Download the HP Smart Tank 7602 User Guide or visit HP’s official support page for step-by-step instructions: HP Smart Tank 7602 Support.

Test with HP Smart App:

  • Use the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device to configure and test scan functions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
