I have exactly the same question posted by HuffandStuff on ‎02-02-2020 02:33 PM - edited ‎02-02-2020 02:44 PM - that read:

"When trying to uninstall in Windows control panel I get the following message: Call to DriverPackageUninstall returned error 5 for package 'C:/WINDOWS/System32DriverStore/FileRepository/hpwia_oj8600.inf_amd64)5a590b7ff0bfb6f2/hpwia_oj8600.inf':A caller of DriverPackageInstall must be a member of the Adminstrators group to install a driver package.

Note that my user account is in the Adminstrator group"

The reply to that post provided well intended lengthy instructions for a fix.  BUT the instructions unravel at the very beginning with the step to uninstall the software using the Windows Apps & Features section under Settings.  When clicking on uninstall for the HP Basic Driver software, the error message pops up, the uninstall fails, and it is impossible to proceed further.

I am trying to uninstall and do a clean reinstall of the software because the printer will not work over a network from this laptop.  The printer works perfectly over the network from other PCs.  The printer will print an internal report when instructed to do so from this laptop, so there appears to be network communication between this laptop and the printer....but it will not print any documents without giving a printer can't print error.

Dragon-Fur, thanks for your quick reply.  I won't be able to get back to removing the HP software for a couple of days, but did want to thank you for pointing me in the right direction ( I took a quick look at ShlomiL 's article and it looks promising).

A few hours ago, I solved my immediate problem of getting my printer working on the network by opening the printer properties under Windows 10's Settings app and changing the printer's port from WSD to a standard TCP/IP port address.  The printer's TCP/IP port address can be found on the printer's built in display screen.  Turned out to be a very simple quick solution.  I'm brand new to this forum.  As soon as I figure out my way around, I'll post that solution with more details; perhaps it will help someone else.  BTW, if you think the solution has merit, feel free to share it, post it, whatever.

Thanks, again.
