Hi @robtur

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Yes, it is generally safe to leave the battery installed in the HP Officejet 250 at all times. The device is designed to support battery operation, and leaving the battery in place when connected to external power sources, such as AC power or USB, shouldn't cause any damage.

However, if you plan to store the printer for an extended period without use, it's a good idea to remove the battery and store it separately in a cool, dry place. This helps prevent the battery from deteriorating over time, especially if the printer won't be used for an extended period.

Always refer to the user manual or documentation provided by HP for specific instructions and recommendations regarding the use and care of your HP Officejet 250 printer and its battery: Click here  page 18 Chapter 2

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you much for the thorough reply.  No manual was included with the printer.  There was only a Quick Start guide inside the box.  I could not locate the manual online at the HP Support website either.  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
