I cancelled the instant ink a few months ago and have been having constant issues with my printers. And now they just won't print. According to the note below if I purchase a original HP ink or toner it will work. Nope! I just purchased 2 very expensive toner cartridges and the printer still won't work. What do I need to do to get these printers to work?
At the end of the billing cycle, you must remove Instant Ink cartridges and purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of your choice to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.

Hi @Angela184,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If you have canceled your account and are unable to print using HP regular cartridges, here's what you need to know & do:
If you have an instant ink cartridge on your printer, remove it and discard that, you can only use regular cartridges on your printer once you cancel the program.
That said, if you have trouble using regular cartridges, I recommend you turn off the web service using the steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04808536
when done successfully, check if it works fine.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
