I have been having issues with the our computers and Apple devices being able to connect to our MFP M277 printer wirelessly. They had been working fine before, but all of a sudden, there was no connection.  I restarted the printer and then was able to resume printing from our devices.  THis has happened a number of times over the past few months and each time I restart the printer, connection is resumed. The printer DOES show that it's still connected to the network prior to restarting, but no printing is available.  I tried to connect to the HP update service via the touch screen but it keeps saying connectivity is not available!!  The printer is still able to print wirelessly but it is unable to connect to HP for firmware updates?  Any suggestions, please?

Thanks

Duane

Hi @djduane,

Here are a couple links to videos that demonstrate different ways to download the firmware update. Please try out both the methods and let me know if you were able to complete the update.

Using a USB Drive to Update the Firmware on HP LaserJet Enterprise Printers

Updating LaserJet Firmware Using the Embedded Web Server

I very much appreciate this article but I've read it multiple times and tried all suggestions. Rebooting the printer does help get it connected so our devices can print to it BUT it still continues to say that it cannot connect to the HP server for firmware updates! I've read in some posts that the issue is HP not having the service in operation rather than a connectivity issue on the owner's end. Is the HP server available? ( I did check to make sure that the time and date on the printer are correct).
I also tried to download the firmware update to my MAC from the HO website so I could update it that way but when I double clicked on the file I got an error message saying it could not find a MGP M277 disk image? Frustrating at best! Any suggestions please?
Thanks

Hi, Marcus!  I tried both solutions but it appears you actually cannot download firmware to this printer using the USB port as it doesn't give that option anywhere. The only option is through the HP Web server which doesn't seem to be operational as I continually get the Can't Connect error message!

I tried installing dwnloading the MAC firmware update file but no success! The file would never unzip SO, as a last recourse, I reluctantly used my PC (Win 8.1) and downloaded the firlmware file and opened it and it connected and downloaded the firware update to the printer After rebooting a couple of times the updated firlmware is NOW installed in our printer!  YAY!  I guess I should never downplay the importance of a PC again!!!  Thanks
