HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 575

I have used this printer for several years with no problems, I think there must have been an automatic software update and since then then I have problems. The computer sends to the printer OK but I cannot scan to the computer. When I open HP Smart and select scan I have a login page then the HP Smart overrides all other windows on my MAC. I cannot bring another page to the front and the only way I can get rid of HP Smart is to reboot the computer.

I have tried a new download but that didn't help.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy?

I'd be happy to help.

Let's do a root uninstall of the HP Smart App:

Please delete from /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart. Then delete HP Smart from the Applications folder and reinstall from the Mac App Store.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the "Accept as solution" on my public post, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!

I have already done this and reloaded the HP software, it did not work. The HP Smart window opens normally, when I select scan I am taken to the log in window. Selecting skip returns me to the HP smart window, selecting log in goes into a loop and refuses to log in. The Header shows Chrome but all other open pages are frozen and will not respond, HP smart window stays on top. I have to reboot to release the blockage.
