Hello,

 

I recently pulled an HP P1606dn laserjet out of mothballs to replace a newer printer that gave up the ghost. While I was able to connect the printer (via USB) easily and directly to a Windows laptop, I can't do the same for my Mac M1.

 

I have follow the instructions on the thread walking us through the HP uninstallation procedure, followed by the download of the large HP drivers package from the Apple website. Nothing appears on the Mac when I attempt to add a printer via the System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners route.

 

Is there some blatantly obvious step I'm skipping? I would imagine downloading that drivers package would've added a list of available printers, no?
