Hi @WMCAS,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your replacement HP OfficeJet Pro, particularly receiving a message about ink cartridges not being recognized, here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve it:

Ink Cartridge Enrollment: Instant Ink cartridges are specifically designed to work only with printers that are enrolled in an active Instant Ink plan. If this replacement printer has not been properly enrolled, you'll receive messages about ink cartridge incompatibility. To resolve this:

  • Enrol your new device in the Instant Ink program. You can do this by visiting the HP Instant Ink website and clicking Sign Up Now. Follow the instructions to register your new printer.

Account Synchronization: Make sure to update your Instant Ink account with the new printer’s details. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and ensure that your new printer is reflected in it. This includes your printer serial number matching the one assigned to your account.

Support Contact: If the error message persists after updating account details:

Firmware Update: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Go to HP Customer Support, enter your printer model, and check for any available firmware updates

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
