Product: OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
When I go to the HP site and attempt to get the Printer Scan (HP Easy Scan) and it takes me to the Find or enter the device it will not either find my printer and if I enter the printer info it does not activate the button to send me to the HP page that has the relevant software. I am trying to get the Software but cannot. I did find in previous blogs posted a link to the "Essentials" and "HP Easy Scan" software, but they have the .pkg extension, from which I gather is an Apple extension and I cannot open it.

I don't know what page YOU are going to on the HP website, but this is the link to the drivers and software page for Win7 32-bit for your printer:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Officejet-Pro-8600-Plus-e-All-in-One-Printer-seri...

 

There is no mention there of any of the software you named -- so if it is not there, it is no longer available for download.

 

If you wanted to spend the money and do not still have the original HP CD that came with the printer, you can order another CD from this same page.  That CD has the original drivers and software on it.

Used your  link. It took me to searching for software. But , it attempted to do so for 20 minutes with no sucess. 

The screen I was talking about was  the following.

       I can enter the printer, but the " Find my product" button does not activate and do any thing.
