I just bought and installed genuine HP ink cartridges in my printer. On the 'Rewards' page I was told that my software was out of date and that I should upgrade to a new version. However, when I clicked on 'install' I got this reply:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://support.hp.com/fr-en/drivers/selfservice/identify?" on this server.

Is this because my printer is described as 'expired'?   The printer works well and I see no reason to replace it.

Years ago -- and long ago ended -- HP Rewards was tied to the driver software.

No, I don't remember why.

 

Printers of a certain age still proclaim the Rewards slogan when cartridges are installed.

Ignore the message.

The Rewards information is outdated.

The cartridge Rewards message is an unfortunate remnant of the past.

 

 

At this writing, relevant to Windows 10

The printer software, though almost as old as the printer, is still available.

Reloading the software does not provide an update that will fix the message.

 

If, at some point (for other reasons) you need to uninstall / install the Full Feature Software,

Go to the webpage to find and download the installation package:
