Officejet 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased an Officejet 7612 printer a little over a year ago, and had it working fine.  I stopped using it for a few months, and now am unable to get it to work.

The software that is activated through the "HP Officejet 7610 series" desktop icon at one time allowed me to check ink levels, access the print queue, and perform several other useful utility functions.  Now, it launches into a routine as if installing a driver for a new printer.  I have run it several times, and each time it tells me that the driver was successfully installed, yet the printer does not appear on the computer's list of printers.

I've searched the HP website for the software that does the utility functions, but no luck.

I have run the "HP Print and Scan Doctor" several times, and it also launches into a routine as if installing a driver for a new printer.  It also says the driver was succesfuly installed, but the printer is not accessible.

What do I need to do to get this 7612 printer working?

Hi @WilliamMitchell,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to print from your HP OfficeJet 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One.

This issue could occur if the drivers are not installed properly.

Let's go through a few steps to uninstall and reinstall the drivers:

Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers:

Please follow the steps provided to uninstall the printer software in the link: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)

Also, please follow the steps provided below to completely remove the printer software from printer properties.

Steps to remove printer driver files from Print Server Properties:

1. Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing any one of the following:

(a). Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click OK.

(b) From the Start menu or the Start screen and open Devices and Printers. Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window. Click on the Drivers tab.

2. Select the printer driver you wish to uninstall.

3. Click the Remove button.

3. Select "Remove driver and driver package" and click OK.

Step 2: Download and install the Drivers from the link: Full Feature Software and Drivers

Step 3: Update the Firmware from the link: Firmware Update

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

After doing the uninstall, running the install for the "Full Feature Software and Drivers" did the trick.

Thanks
