Three years ago, I setup my printer on wifi and probably changed the username and password defaults at that time. I no longer have this info, and I'd like to reset the printer to factory settings. When I attempt to reset on the printer LCD control panel, or the printer's web portal, I am stymied by the message: "This feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer". The suggested defaults ("admin", "12345678", etc) don't allow me to access the settings in "HP Smart" or the Printer's Web Interface to perform a 'hard reset'.
I have attempted the hard reset instructions found on this forum (unplug, purge power, plug back in & remove cartridges, unplug, purge power, plug back in, put cartridges back in) and none of those options worked for me.
While I've found similar posts of this issue on this board, the responses usually feature a 'private' message response with detailed instructions since the hard-reset routine varies between printers, since using an incorrect approach could 'brick' the printer. So I'd appreciate some help on how to reset this printer to factory settings, please.
