Deskjet F4180
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have a second hand Deskjet F4180, and I need to connect it to the computer and install the driver to use it.

I downloaded the driver here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-f4100-all-in-one-printer-series/3177560/...

Then I install the driver and connect the printer to the computer and plug it to the power.

After installing the driver, however, the driver keeps asking me to connect the printer to the computer. See the dialogue below:

Printer.png

The dialogue is in Chinese. But after translation, the two lines say:

1. Make sure the device is powered on.

2. Connect the USB cable.

I have done both, and also restarted the computer, but it simply does not work.

The previous owner of this printer says it works.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve it?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @The_Fossette

Thanks a lot for your detailed instructions and sorry for my delayed reply.

I tried the link you provided, but the software is for Win 8 and Win 10, and does not work for my Win 7.

Moreover, are you sure this is the right driver to use? It says it is for Photosmart C6200 series, and my printer is Deskjet F4180.

Thanks again!
