I cannot get a new HP Officejet Pro 8025e installed on a Mac running Big Sur. I tried using HP Smart and the computer cannot find the printer. The printer is on the same network as the printer and shows a solid blue light and connected to same router as the computer. The only software available on the HP support site is a firmware update for this printer (which I cannot complete because the computer cannot find the printer. I tried to install directly from Printers & Scanners and tried to add (+) the new printer; but no printers are found. I reset the printer and the printer list on the Mac, then tried the installation from scratch, still cannot find the printer. I went though every step described in https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2984732-2984811-16 to no avail. I need help. The install software in HP Smart is no help.

OK, after much effort i finally got this printer to conncet wirelessly to the Mac running Big Sur. Here is what I did...
1) Removed all printers from the Mac
2) Unpluged the printer from power and replugged it in after 1 minute
3) Used a USB cable and connected the printer to the MAC computer
4) Installed printer using USB cable (not WiFi), this installed the drivers on the MAC computer which I could not do before
5) Removed the USB cable from the printer
6) Connected the printer to the router via WiFi using a unique TCP/IP address (192.168.1.109) - not using HP Smart
7) Opened HP Smart and installed the WiFi printer (now I had two printers with the same name but one USB and one WiFi)
😎 Removed the printer that was installed using USB from the MAC computer.
9) The printer now works via WiFi and can AirPrint from iPad and iPhone.
Come on HP, lets get the installation right or let us install the drivers ourselves (not available from HP web site).
Hope it helps someone.
