I have deleted all printer drivers done s fc / scan now rebooted both machines many times and it will not install. i did get it connected to my router but it always comes up with an error installing the drivers. Hi @Jaywood74

To check what is going on when installing your printer try with HP Print Doctor:

Thank you for your reply. The scan doctor does not work for some reason. It installs and has a desktop shortcut but that's all it does. It shows it is running in the process manager but that is all it does. No program starts up, all it does when I click the shortcut on the desktop is the cmd prompt blinks for a second and that's all it does. There is nothing about it in add and remove programs, or in the windows desktop  (show all programs).

Hi @Jaywood74

Ok, then try with the next HP Print Doctor version 4.9

I did get that version to install and run and all it did when finished was tell me to download and install the software that I already have downloaded and have been trying to install from the very beginning. It does kind of work now but the printing is very slow. It is installed into the USB devices twice in the device manager and also in other devices with the yellow exclamation icon but without drivers, so now unless I leave those there it tries to install them every time I turn on the printer. It really makes no sense to me what HP is doing. Any other time you can go and just find the driver you need and install it and be done with it.  I will probably never buy another HP product. Everything I downloaded from HP was for Windows 7x64 but it appears to me it only works for Windows 10 or 11. Nothing I got from them ever installed on Windows 7.it came up with the driver install error every time. Screenshot included of device manager.Other Devices.PNG

Hi @Jaywood74

1. Thank you for sending a screenshot of device manager. 😊

2. Now when looking in Other devices shows 2 Deskjet printers.

3. Let me tell you that this usually happens when there is failure in USB connection. I would like to recommend to change the USB Cable for a new one, because there is some failure right there.
